Save As PowerPoint Show

To save the presentation in the PowerPoint Show format, choose one of the following variants:

• If you want to save the PowerPoint Show to the same location as the original presentation, do the following:

     1.   On the File tab, click Save As, and then choose PowerPoint Show (*.ppsx):

  

     2.   Optionally, modify the file name, then click the Save button.

• If you want to save the PowerPoint Show to a different location than the original presentation, or if you haven't saved the original presentation yet, do the following:

     1.   On the File tab, click Save As, then click Browse:

  

     2.   In the Save As dialog box:

  • Choose the needed location,
  • Optionally, modify the file name in the File name field,
  • From the Save as type list, choose PowerPoint Show:
    
  • Click the Save button.

Export as PowerPoint Show

To export the presentation as a PowerPoint Show, do the following:

   1.   On the File tab, click Export.

   2.   On the Export pane:

• From the Export list, choose Change File Type,
• From the Change File Type list, under Presentation File Types, select PowerPoint Show:
  
• Click the Save As button at the bottom:
  

   3.   In the Save As dialog box:

• In the Save As Type list, the PowerPoint Show item is selected automatically,
• Navigate to the folder where you want to save the PowerPoint Show:
  
• Click the Save button.

Saving the presentation as PowerPoint Show allows you to save the file on your PC, and when you click on it, the presentation starts automatically. No opening up the PowerPoint application first!

PowerPoint Show is a presentation that runs only as a slide show. The slide show can be viewed in PowerPoint or another PowerPoint Reader application.
